 Introduction

A cup-type citrus extractor is different from a citrus juicer that cuts fruit in half. It is a citrus juicer that uses the whole fruit to extract juice. Using instant separation technology, substances and environments that may have adverse effects on the juice are isolated, ensuring excellent juice quality. A stainless steel piping system is used to transport the juice, ensuring high hygiene standards. The cup juicer is suitable for squeezing and extracting juice from citrus fruits such as sweet oranges, satsuma mandarins, tangerines, lemons, etc. It is especially effective for extracting juice from NPC oranges. After the raw materials enter the cup juicer, four different products can be produced: juice, peel, seed core coating, and peel and oil mixture.

 Working Process

1. The upper pressing cup moves downward, maintaining the citrus fruit's cup shape.
2. Peel deformation causes the oil glands to rupture and release oil.
3. A round piece of peel is cut off with a lower cutter, creating a round hole at the bottom of the citrus.
4. The internal components (juice, pulp, valve, core, seeds) pass through the lower cutter.
5. As pressure increases, a circular peel is cut from the top of the citrus.
6. Peel begins to be discharged through the gap around the upper cutter.
7. The through-hole tube in the filter tube starts to rise.
8. The upper cutter forms a closure on the upper part of the lower cutter.
9. The through-hole tube continues to rise and compresses the part in the filter tube.
10. Pulp and juice are pressed out through holes in the filter tube, while the core, valves, and seeds are pressed into the through-hole tube.
11. The last pressed material is expelled from the through-hole tube.

Application

During the production process, the cup juicer divides citrus into the following four parts: juice, peel, peel oil mixture, and seed core capsule. Comprehensive citrus processing plants employ different processing methods for these products according to their respective needs:

Juice finishing: In most cases, the juice obtained from the cup juicer still requires further processing because it may contain more pulp fiber, which needs to be further removed to meet product requirements. This can be achieved using hydrocyclones and refiners. To obtain purer juice, a butterfly centrifuge is often added.

Peel oil processing: The peel oil mixture collected from the cup juicer needs further processing to obtain peel oil. To facilitate the collection of the skin oil mixture, water is added to the cup juicer, and the water injection pipe connects to the spray ring in the upper bowl cap. The amount of water added depends on the factory's requirements. After the skin oil mixture is separated from oil and water by a spiral refiner and a centrifuge, the extracted liquid becomes peel oil. Peel oil is a by-product with high added value in citrus processing.

Orange puree processing: The pulp fiber extracted by the refining machine can be used in various food processing applications and serves as natural dietary fiber.

Feed processing: Waste materials such as peels, cores, and pomace are crushed in the feed factory, squeezed to remove excess water, and dried to become feed. The squeezed liquid becomes molasses through the evaporation process, which can be used as high-quality feed.
